Back to blog land...

Happy New Year everyone, and welcome to my first post for the year.
I know, it's January 6th and New Year was so 6 days ago!
I'm reminded of a 'Seinfeld' episode where the topic was New Year and when does one stop saying 'Happy New Year'?
I think all of January is ok, maybe we can stretch it out to the Chinese New Year, which is February 10th.
Speaking of Chinese New Year, I'm excited to learn that 2013 is my year....year of the Snake. Wondering what's in store for me!!!

So I've just had 12 days up at our house on the Sunshine Coast, spending long days in the garden, meandering through shops with sales and braving the somewhat over crowded beaches to cool off during what has been a hot and dry 2 weeks.

It's been extremely relaxing, but I'm keen to get this New Year kick started and I did miss having internet access. I've missed reading all my favourite blogs and sharing my world with you all too.....so...back to blog land...here are a few snippets of my days!

My beautiful owl, my daughter gave to me for Christmas sits perfectly on the small white table I painted. It's new home is in a sunny corner of the living area. It also displays some green glass bottles, my turquoise picture frames and a Kookaburra feather.

I'm loving these Furoshiki Japanese wrapping cloths my sister brought back from Japan. I love displaying them on my old wooden ladder alongside the garland I made from palm tree berry stems.

Braving the over crowded Noosa beach on a scorcher of a day!

My favourite Pandanus trees.

ooh....Typo does Turquoise!....perfect for jotting down my New Year resolutions.

Lady finger bananas just picked from the banana palm out back...
These ripened so fast, I have peeled and frozen most of them for future banana muffins!

A colourful pot of home grown vegies and herbs ready to be thrown into my Shepherd's Pie...delicious by the way!

My gorgeous Frangipani's putting on a stunning show for all the Christmas visitors.

Time for a long walk along Sunshine Beach...

Glasshouse Mountain ( the sleeping gorilla) at sunset.

So there you have it...totally random shots of my days up the coast...

Well I have a lot of blog reading to do so I'll be off..
Happy to be back and looking forward to catching up with all your goings on since Christmas.

Take care.
