my weekend...

This weekend had me mixing concrete in a wheel barrow to lay a new drain for all the rain we've been having lately. I've also been mowing lawns and topping them with river sand, leveling the sand and planting mondo grass down a driveway edge. Needless to say my muscles ache and my bones long to lay down in a warm bath filled with epsom salts.



Hopefully it won't be long before the mondo grass completely lines the driveway.


The garden did look rather brilliant this weekend after all the rain we have had....and yes more is on the way!





A Sunday drive into Eumundi had us stumble across a classic jaguar meet at the local CWA.




I can see myself driving down our leafy country roads in one of these e-type jags with the top down.



 
 


Time for a coffee and time out at my favourite book shop....there are so many books I would love to bring home with me!



Finishing off the weekend at Noosa main beach for the Iron Man series....watching the event just before the heavens opened up leaving the crowd scrambling for cover from yet again another torrential downpour...
I wonder how our drain is holding up.....!

  2. Wow! That plant with the purple foliage is so beautiful and it looks so exotic to me! You sure have been busy... Maybe you'll be able to relax during the week!

    1. I sure hope so and recharge my batteries for next weekend!....more gardening or possibly painting inside if this rain keeps up.

  5. Sounds like a busy weekend :) We did lots of gardening too and yes, the rain has certainly improved the look of things in ours too :)

      yes the mondo is used alot in rockeries and for edges, small and tufty!

  9. I hope your muscles and bones have recovered from the busy weekend. I like seeing your garden the plants are so different to mine. We would only see the purple leaf plant as a houseplant here.
